Switch Sail

The Switch allows all sailors to switch sail sizes depending on their weight while continuing with the same platform.

By replacing the lower mast section, you can switch from a 6.5 m² sail to a 7.5 or 8.5 m² sail, with the upper and middle mast sections being shared across all three rigs. This allows a young sailor to move up to the next larger rig while retaining the same platform, including the hull, foils, boom, rigging, and a large portion of the mast.

SWITCH 6.5

• Sail area 6.5 m² with red mast sleeve
• Compared to the SWITCH 8.5 and SWITCH 7.5, the rig features a shorter lower mast section. The boom, middle, and upper mast sections are identical to the larger SWITCH rigs.
• Recommended weight for young beginners 45 to 65 kg
• Recommended age >13 years, body weight and condition are always decisive

SWITCH 7.5

• Sail area 7.5 m² with white mast sleeve
• Rig compared to the SWITCH 8.5 with identical mast, but narrower sail design, so that the pressure point of the rig moves downwards and requires less righting moment.
• Recommended weight for performance-oriented sailors: 65 to 80 kg
• Recommended weight for recreational sailors: from 58 kg

SWITCH 8.5

• Sail area 8.5 m² with black mast sleeve
• Recommended weight of the helmsman for competitive sports: 80 - 88 kg
• Recommended weight of the helmsman for recreational sport: from 70 to 100+ kg
• The mast consists of three parts and is identical to that of the SWITCH 7.5 .
